It seems like more and more vehicles are being recalled for malfunctions. If its not broken tailgates then its airbags that turn into claymores and spray shrapnel everywhere. Ford is recalling 547,538 pickups for a possible fire risk.

The recall affects vehicles that were manufactured in the Kentucky Truck Plant between October 8, 2015 to October 29, 2019. The issue occurs after the truck is in an accident. The seat belt pretensioner has the potential to create sparks which could light the carpet or the carpet insulation near the B pillar.

Ford Super Duty Recall Fire

There has been on report of this occurring but luckily no one got injured. The flame was caused by

front seat belt pretensioner that deploys during a crash can generate excessive sparks.
