Having a roll cage can determine whether you are going to get out of a crash alive. If you drift or drag race most competitions require a roll cage. If you are racing an open top car it is common sense to make sure that you are taking the proper precautions so you can live to see another day.
One man is lucky to be alive after a near fatal crash. He was driving his open top 1920s car around the track. Everything seemed fine until he lost traction. The back of the car swung around then the car started to flip.
The man mostly flung out of the car with one foot still caught. The video below ends with the man lying lifeless on the ground. In most cases you would think that he had met his end. Although it wasn’t his time yet. He ended up getting a plethora of injuries,
- Fractured skull and facial bones
- Fractured left scapular
- Punctured lung
- Fractured left 6-11 ribs
- Grade 3 splenic injury
- Left descending aorta intimal injury
- Fractured L1-L4 transverse vertebrae
- Fractured T4-T7 spinous vertebrae
- Fractured right pelvis
- Fractured laryngeal cartilage
- Lip lacerations
Thankfully he has made a full recovery.
