A 24 year old man was caught in New Jordan, Utah adjusting the mileage on cars and selling them. Steve Stone was arrested after an undercover agent contacted Steve and asked to purchase a vehicle. Steve handed the undercover agent the title which happened to still be in the name of another individual.
Police discovered that Steve had been rolling odometers back in excess of 100,000 miles. The CarFax showed more legitimate mileage for the vehicles he was trying to sell.
Records show Stone has multiple charges of theft, odometer violations communications fraud and selling cars without a dealer license starting in September of 2016. In June 2017 he was charged for similar offenses, and additionally in June, July, September and October 2018.
