The Daytona 500
Very few Presidents have attended a Nascar race. Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Trump are the only presidents that have attended. Trump made an even better appearance by being the first president in history to drive around the track at the Daytona 500 in his 22,000lb Cadillac limousine called “The Beast.”
Trump gave the famous commands to the racers, “Gentlemen, start your engines!” The president and the first lady rode in The Beast. They circled a portion of the track followed by Trump’s motorcade. Trump was asked what he enjoyed most about the races. He stated,
I think it’s really the bravery of these people… it takes great courage.
The Beast
Trump’s Beast of a limo is truly unique. The vehicle is valued at $1.5 million. It weighs close to 22,000lbs and supposedly can drive at 100mph on four flat tires. Based on the Cacillac CT6 The Beast comes equipped with features to fend off any assassination attempt or attacks. It is also fitted with bags of the President’s blood type.
It might sound like it’s out of a movie or an arcade game but the vehicle is the real deal. To help with protecting the POTUS the limo is able to disperse tear gas, a smoke screen and even oil slick to impede anyone following them. Plus with 8″ thick walls and multi layered windows you know that the secret service has taken every aspect into thought when planning to keep the president out of harm’s way.
